AS-IS 1880's Monarch. Likely made by Buckbee
Neck has a 25-1/4" scale ebonized hardwood veneer fretboard nicely decorated with celluloid inlays, including the large "Monarch" at the fretboards end. The neck is not as straight as I would prefer, but is playable. The 10-11/16" rim is spunover, but when you peep through the tiny tear in the calf skin head, you can see the skin is resting directly on the wood. The wood tailpiece has a celluloid crown inlay and also a crack, but seems to be holding up nicely. Guitar style original geared tuners with bone buttons that are likely worth the price of the banjo. As-is for $450 and includes a chipboard electric guitar case to drag it around.
