On Hold. This mandolin is more than a century old, but still has a significant number of tunes left in it. Made by the C.F. Martin company in Nazareth, Pennsylvania, the Style A was their least expensive mandolin, but still having the high construction quality of all their other instruments. The neck, back and sides are mahogany. The top is red spruce (sometimes called Adirondack spruce) and the 13-1/16” scale fretboard is Brazilian rosewood. This instrument has had some repair done. It appears refinished as well as a few back & side cracks repaired. With the short scale and set up with light gauge strings, this mando is very comfortable to play. With 1980’s Harptone hard case the price is $600.
