1890’s W.A. Cole. A well-made 0 size guitar from noted Boston, Massachusetts Banjo maker W.A. Cole. The mahogany neck has a slotted peghead with a Brazilian rosewood peghead overlay and a 24-5/8” scale ebony fretboard. Neck width is 1-7/8” at the nut and has a pronounced V shape. The 0-size body is made with Brazilian rosewood back & sides and spruce top. Recent spa treatment at the SFI shop included a neck reset, crack repair, loose brace reglues, a new pyramid bridge, and a new set of Stewart-Macdonald Golden Age tuners. We have it set up with GHS Silk and Bronze strings giving it a warm precise tone that is not tinny. With a newer hard case, the price is $2,000. Less than the cost of the wood to build a replica.
