1947 Martin 0-17T Tenor Guitar
1947 Martin 0-17T Tenor Guitar. A fine example of an early post war Martin guitar, albeit with only 4 strings. Like all Style 17 guitars of the post World War II era, this instrument has a mahogany neck, back, sides, and top, with Brazilian rosewood fretboard (22-7/8” scale), bridge, and peghead overlay. The instrument is in nice mostly original condition. In the late 1980’s this guitar was in the Goose Acres shop where SFI’s proprietor, Bob Smakula (in a previous life) completed a neck reset, new frets, and installed a black replacement pickguard. When this guitar was recently acquired from it’s long time owner, Bob reglued the bridge and installed new tuner buttons on the vintage Kluson tuners. At one point there was a D’Armond sound hole pickup installed and there is still a ¼” pick up jack in the lower treble bout. just waiting for you to decide if there is a pickup in your future. We have strung this instrument in tenor banjo tuning, C, G, D, A, but other tenor guitar tunings are also acceptable. All in all, this tenor guitar is in excellent physical, playing and structural condition. For $1,850 we include a properly fitting modern Golden Gate hard case.
