1910(?) Oscar Schmidt Model 928 as is Project 5-String Banjo. Plenty of things need attention on this 110+ year old banjo. Most noticeably is the broken 4th string peghead ear (& moved 4th string tuner hole, now the 3rd string tuner) and the 5th string modification to use a geared tuner. Very likely this banjo would be playable leaving those modifications in place. You decide. The neck has a 25-1/4” scale with the frets installed in the neck (no fretboard) the rim is likely black painted beech. It is not round and has a roughly 10-5/8” diameter. 38 brackets are all original with the exception of 2 nuts. Use this as a doner for another project, or make it playable as the banjo you bring to festivals for others to play. Or install the Kluson guitar tuners on your 1940’s Martin 0-17 guitar with the crumbling tuner buttons. Price is $125 and our usual low shipping prices apply.
