1915(?) Supertone 5-string banjo, As-Is
1915(?) Supertone 5-string banjo, As-Is. Marked as NO 406, I am not sure if it is the model number or serial number. But with a banjo like this it really doesn’t matter. No one has Supertone serial number records anyway. The maple neck has a 26-1/4” ebonized maple fretboard and matching peghead overlay (with overlay cracks) The tuners look like they were installed in the 1950’s . The 10-1/2” rim looks to be beech and is metal clad. There are 16 matching original brackets. The string height is exceptionally high. Even the champions of high string height with nylon strings would agree some sort of neck reset is in order. In overall good cosmetic condition and waits for you to make it playable, or just use it as decoration. The $150 price includes a worn out cardboard case with faux alligator exterior.
